Originally from Prince Edward Island, David Deacon has worked in finance for over 40 years. He takes a comprehensive, solution-focused approach to wealth management, working closely with his clients on all aspects of their financial situation.
By looking at each client’s personal and professional finances in depth, he is able to identify both opportunities and potential challenges, addressing the latter through strategic, innovative wealth management solutions. This thorough, collaborative approach ensures that each client receives a very high level of service that is personalized to reflect their goals.
A graduate of Dalhousie University, David holds a BA in Economics. He has his CIM® (Certified Investment Manager) designation, is a fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute and is insurance licensed.
David resides in the Wolfville area with his wife of many years and the youngest of their three children. His oldest, Caroline is a graduate of the Nova Scotia college of Art and Design (NSCA). John attended, and played hockey for the University of Ottawa. Blake currently attends and plays hockey for, Buffalo State University. In his spare time, David indulges his passion for antique cars and enjoys biking, hiking, kayaking, playing guitar and spending time with his family.
He is proud to be a part of an annual bike ride in Europe which raises money for Wounded Warriors Canada, an organization which supports veterans and first responders suffering from PTSD.

Shari was born in New Brunswick and has now lived in Nova Scotia for over 30 years. She resides in the Annapolis Valley with her husband as well as her parents, who live in a “granny suite” within the family home. Shari has two grown sons of whom she will happily boast, given the smallest opportunity. She loves to travel and enjoys movies, music, reading fiction, and cooking for family and friends when given the opportunity. In her spare time, she enjoys an active lifestyle that includes biking, hiking, golf and especially time with her family.

As a Financial Planning Specialist, Craig supports Investment Advisors in delivering integrated financial planning services to our clients. Craig began advising CIBC clients in 2002 as a Financial Advisor. He uses a personable and consultative approach to understand clients’ aspirations and develop Financial Plans that can help them accomplish their goals. Community involved, Craig has served as a past committee chair for the Halifax Chamber of Commerce and has helped run youth sports teams in various capacities.

Bruce believes that the key to working successfully with clients is talking to them, not just about their needs, but also their life objectives and how insurance can assist them in the achievement of their goals. Prior to joining CIBC Wood Gundy, Bruce was with a leading insurance company where he was the Director of Sales for National Accounts. In addition to his sales and management roles, he also brings experience from the actuarial side of the desk. This perspective allows him to have a deeper understanding in dealing with insurance needs. Bruce brings with him a strong analytical and mathematical background, having earned his MSc. in Mathematics from Dalhousie University.

Thomas is a proponent of wealth management and believes that the key to successful financial planning is listening to clients’ needs and life objectives with a focus on how the use of life insurance can assist them in achieving their goals. He previously worked at one of the most successful independent financial planning firms where he primarily provided estate planning and retirement solutions. In addition to his sales and client relationship experience, Thomas also worked with one of the largest insurance companies on the product service and development side allowing him to build in-depth knowledge of current and past insurance products.
