Freddie Hamilton, MBA
During my career in professional hockey, I became aware of the challenges that players face in properly managing their money while they are focused on achieving their goals on the ice. And, since retiring from professional hockey, I have continued to liaise with former teammates who have experienced financial challenges – indeed, I have discovered that it is common for athletes to face significant financial pressures after retiring from professional sport.
After retiring from professional hockey, I completed a business degree and went on to achieve an MBA from Yale University, where I graduated at the top of my class. This experience strengthened my ability to develop and implement strategic plans to address complex financial challenges.
As an athlete, I also learned the importance of teamwork, and that great success can only be achieved through a talented and collaborative team. Together with the accomplished and diverse team of financial experts at CIBC, we are able to develop and implement successful plans to help current and former professional athletes and other clients to overcome their financial challenges, and to grow their wealth.
