Jamie Gale, CIM®
Jamie is a trusted advisor who brings both perspective and energy to every client relationship. As a Senior Wealth Advisor, Portfolio Manager, and holder of the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation, Jamie is known for his ability to coordinate the full picture of a family’s financial life. Clients often rely on him as the central point of contact for their most important decisions. He works closely with accountants, lawyers, and other professionals to help ensure every aspect of their planning is aligned, thoughtful, and well executed.
Jamie grew up in a humble home in Kelowna, an experience that gave him an early appreciation for perseverance, loyalty, and generosity. His path to wealth management was built through a wide range of experiences, from painting tugboats as a teenager, to leadership roles at Safeway, to mortgage brokering and large-scale joint ventures in land and development. When he eventually set his sights on wealth management, he pursued it with determination and resilience, earning his place at Wood Gundy as a rookie and building the foundation for what would become an exceptional career.
Today, Jamie leads a team, serving families who require comprehensive wealth advice that extends far beyond investment management. With a client focused approach, he and his team help clients navigate complex financial decisions with clarity and confidence. He sets a high standard for excellence and is deeply committed to delivering the level of advice, service, and coordination that clients deserve.
Family remains at the center of Jamie’s life. His wife, Kathie, is an essential part of that foundation. Outside of work, he enjoys golf, time on the water, and making the most of Okanagan summers.
Ronald Langevin
Clients often describe Ron as the steady hand you want in your corner: approachable, genuine, and always ready with a clear perspective, no matter how complex the situation.
What drives him each morning is the chance to make financial matters less intimidating and more empowering. He cares deeply about financial literacy, and he wants everyone to feel confident making decisions that reflect their values and their goals. His work is about more than numbers; it is about helping people find clarity, reduce stress, and reach peace of mind, especially during life’s pivotal moments. As a Wealth Advisor with over 25 years in the industry, and holder of the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) and Certified Investment Manager (CIM®) designations, he helps individuals, families, and business owners simplify anything involving a dollar sign.
Growing up in the Yukon, Ron watched his parents build dream homes for others and learned the value of helping people reach their goals. His strengths were never in construction, but he found his calling helping people build their financial prosperity. Along the way he learned that the best advisors are not just experts in markets; they are great listeners, educators, and partners. Clients can count on him for a proactive, repeatable experience built on accountability and trust, with consistent contact and reviews grounded in integrity.
Outside the office, Ron is a dedicated husband, father, son, brother, and friend who values creating lasting memories with the people he cherishes. He lives in beautiful British Columbia and finds joy in swimming, biking, snowshoeing, and cheering on his kids. You will also find him at a pickleball court, attempting healthier versions of comfort food, or outside with family, good weather, and at least one kid yelling his name from far away.
Andre Valade
A strategic, big-picture thinker who is both patient and thorough, Andre thrives on untangling complexity and translating it into plain language that anyone can understand.
Doing right by clients, for Andre, means finding the solution that actually fits, not just the one that's easiest to reach for. He pays close attention to what's happening in the world and thinks carefully about how investors should be positioned as a result.
His interest in markets started early. Growing up with a connection to the Desmarais family, the controlling shareholders of Power Corp, gave him an early window into business and economics that stuck. He went on to spend a decade working in energy policy at the federal level, and an executive development program at the National Defence College deepened his understanding of global strategic affairs. That combination of markets, policy, and big-picture thinking still shapes how he reads the world today.
Outside of work, Andre recently made the move to North Saanich with Kirsty, and he's settled comfortably into the pace and the views. His four kids are spread across Vancouver, Victoria, and Nanaimo. When he has time to himself, he's usually on the golf course, picking up his guitar, or tracking down something worth eating or drinking, whether that's a well-made meal and/or a good bottle of wine. He's also set his sights on getting his golf handicap into single digits and losing twenty pounds, though he'll be the first to admit those two goals are not equally within reach.
Sheila Hemsworth
Steadfast, welcoming, and always ready to lend a hand. As the administrative team lead, Sheila keeps the day-to-day running so that nothing falls through the cracks for clients or the team.
What motivates her every day is providing a genuinely high level of service. After this many years, she has learned that the small things are the big things: a call returned quickly, a detail handled before you have to ask, a familiar voice when you reach out. She values being part of a high functioning, client-focused team, and takes being a real partner to the rest of the team seriously.
Her journey began 34 years ago as a teller with CIBC. Over the years that led her through a number of roles, including Private Banking Associate, before she joined Gale Wealth Advisors and Wood Gundy a little over three years ago. Every step taught her the same lesson: trust is built one interaction at a time, and you have to be willing to adapt. Today, as Administrative Team Lead for Gale Wealth Advisors and Willow Wealth Management, she draws on that experience to support both clients and the team.
Family is the most important thing in Sheila’s life. She is island born and raised, and has called the Saanich Peninsula home since she was four years old. When she's not hosting family and friends, you can find her outside of work camping, cooking, and travelling.
Jane Trites, B.Comm., CIM, FCSI
For Jane, honesty and being genuine with clients are at the core of everything. As the team's financial planning coordinator, holder of the Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), Canadian Investment Manager (CIM®), and Life Insurance designations, she is committed to making sure every request is followed through. Consistency is key.
It's the clients who drive her to be her best. They are the foundation of the practice, and Jane does not take their trust and loyalty for granted. She joined Gale Wealth Advisors because she wanted to work more closely with them, and her role has evolved over the years into one she clearly values: making sure anyone who wants a personalized financial plan has one, or is connected with the right expert, whether that person sits inside CIBC Private Wealth or beyond it.
Showing up for clients, to Jane, means listening to understand what matters most. The goal is to be proactive rather than reactive, so no one is ever left wondering where they stand. Accountable and consistent, every time.
She grew up in a military family, moving every two years and seeing the world a little differently because of it. She lived overseas in Vienna and Cyprus, and across Canada in Calgary, Kingston, and Ottawa. Her last move, twenty years ago, brought her from Ottawa to Brentwood Bay. To stay grounded outside of work, she enjoys a long walk, a good book, and travelling.
Sarah Hayward
Known for her friendly, happy nature, Sarah tries to make every client interaction warm and welcoming. What motivates her most is helping clients reach their goals and building lasting connections along the way, and she finds real fulfillment in making a positive impact on people’s financial journeys.
She studied economics at the University of Victoria, fell for the financial side of it, and moved straight into wealth management after graduating in 2022. In her role, she executes trades, keeps a close eye on client accounts, and handles the day-to-day requests that keep everything running smoothly.
Born and raised in Victoria, Sarah has a brother and sister who are triplets. She grew up playing soccer and still loves hiking and trying new sports. Off the clock, you will find her with friends and family, travelling and exploring new places, or at home with her cat Churro.
Spencer Onslow
Spencer is the person who finds the answer to a question, a query, or a concern, no matter the situation. What he cares about most is the impact: taking something complex and making it make sense.
A Calgarian at his core, Spencer studied Economics at Dalhousie University in Halifax, graduating in 2024. He started his career in multiple Wood Gundy co-op roles in Calgary and as a branch assistant in Regina, gaining experience from the ground up. He earned his way into the Private Wealth Rotational Program, building connections across National Office, Private Banking, and Wood Gundy, before stepping into his current role in Victoria. Calgary, Halifax, Regina, Victoria; each move added to how he understands people and the world they live in.
Now part of the Gale Wealth Advisors team, he is approved to execute trades across a full range of investment products and leads the team’s marketing and client events.
Outside the office, you will find him with his vinyl collection, at a concert, travelling, or with friends and family.
Liana Pedersen
Liana lives by a simple phrase: make yourself 1% better each day. It pushes her to challenge herself and see what is possible, and at heart the work matters to her because she loves building relationships and helping people.
Originally from Calgary, she moved to the island for university in 2020. Programs like Women in Finance and the Applied Investment Management course not only sparked a passion for the industry, but made her want to push herself in a fast pace and exciting enviroment. Across four co-op placements at two firms, and now with CIBC, she has picked up the industry experience that makes her more well-rounded and open-minded.
For now she supports the team on the administrative side, with a goal to grow into trading or investment advice once she finishes her courses.
Outside the office, she loves travelling, running, sports, and time with friends and family.
