With over 13 years of experience in financial services, Mike Squires is a seasoned Senior Wealth Advisor with CIBC Wood Gundy. Holding a comprehensive understanding of the intricate landscape of wealth management, Mike is focused on guiding clients through complex investment decisions, retirement planning, and estate management. He is dedicated to providing continuity and stability over the long-term, while creating personalized solutions that align with each client's unique circumstances.

Graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Acadia, Mike has continually refined his expertise through ongoing professional development and industry certifications. He currently holds the Chartered Investment Managers (CIM®) designation and a Certificate in Advanced Investment Advice from the Canadian Securities Institute.

Mike prides himself on integrity, transparency, and a client-centric approach. He is focused on building lasting relationships with clients through trust and mutual respect that will stand the test of time.

Karl Larson is the other founding member of Larson Squires Advisory Group. Karl has over 40 years of experience in the investment industry and originally began his investment career in 1978 with one of CIBC Wood Gundy’s predecessor companies. From 1980 to 2011 Karl occupied several roles on the management side of the investment industry. Karl has an honours degree from the University of Waterloo and a masters degree from the University of Western Ontario. Karl and his wife, Tena have been proud residence of the Annapolis Valley since 1988.

Karl enjoys working with clients to fully understand their unique investment goals. He takes a direct approach to investing that is focused on asset allocation and diversification.

Kristin Steinke joined the Wood Gundy team in the Spring of 2023 after 3+ years of Customer Service Representative/Lead CSR work with CIBC in Kentville.  With 15+ years of high-end hospitality experience, Kristin has lived and worked in a variety of unique and amazing places around the world, from Switzerland to Ireland to New Zealand, her native Germany, and beginning in 2016, Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada.  There she met her husband and they decided to make the gorgeous Annapolis Valley their home to start a family and they moved here in 2019.  Kristin is a passionate client-service-oriented financial professional who speaks, reads, and writes both English and German, loves gardening, baking, crafting, and spending time outdoors with her dog Scarlett and son Archer. 

During her time with CIBC Kentville, Kristin became proficient at handling estate cases, cash transactions, and filled her leadership role with an enthusiasm and professionalism that earned her the respect of both team members and clients alike.  Her new role with Wood Gundy has matched her with Mike Squires and Karl Larson as their Admin Assistant and allows her the opportunity to bring her extensive client-service experience and organizational skills to wealth management.
