PETER: Some members of our team have been with us over 25 years. I think that's comforting when clients can call up, there's more than just an answering machine or a voice at the end of it, there's a person there. Whether it be me or one of our entrusted team members. If they ask for something, they don't have to wait a day.

PETER: They're going to get that same service that they can count on that they've had for 30 years. We're after the long-term performance, we're here to emulate what a pension does. If you think of it, most clients don't call a pension and ask them in a downturn, "Are you going to sell my investments?" We're after companies that will continue to grow their earnings, continue to increase their dividends.

 

We're constructing a portfolio that'll weather through good markets and bad markets. Being proactive rather than being reactive. As Gretzky always said, "You want to go to where the puck's going, not to where the puck's been."

Clients feel comfortable in the sense that they've got the backing of a very solid financial institution, but they also have the personalized service and the depth and the relationships of a small team. It's an in-depth process we go through trying to get a better understanding of what the client's objectives are. Working with our team, we have a financial planner that constructs a long term plan.
