Tactical Growth Mandate - Weekly Briefing
My son turned 8 on Saturday. He woke up and opened some gifts, had a fun hockey practice, came home and had his friends over for some laughs. That evening we had the family over for his favorite foods and some cake. We kicked back and watched some mildly inappropriate TV for an 8 year old, but it capped off a great day!
It was a reminder to me of just how important these days are and how living in “the now” is so vital. It’s a part of my job, but also a part of my character to know what’s going on around the world. I’m a history buff and also a follower of politics. To say I’ve been all-consumed this past little while in the world’s affairs is an understatement.
At 39 years of age, I’ve never had a loved one leave for a great war. I’ve also never had a war brought to my doorstep. Many of us, myself included, may have taken our democracy and freedom for granted. As I look at a population of more than 44 million in Ukraine on the verge of being invaded by Russia, I’m awfully thankful that my family and I have never had to live with the worry or fear being experienced by so many in the world right now.
Since just January 1st - only 52 days - we’ve all had to watch a geopolitical crisis, protests in our Nation’s capital, soaring inflation, and continued COVID restrictions. Sometimes, don’t you just wish everyone had it as easy as this champ?!
