Smith Falconer Financial Group Gives Back
Today, December 6th, Smith Falconer Financial Group is proud to continue our tradition of making a difference in the lives of children in our community, through CIBC Miracle Day.
We support this project annually by allocating fees earned, in the normal course of our practice.
We have had the privilege of directing our CIBC Miracle Day funds to initiatives that are of significance to both our team, and our valued clients, notably Big Brothers and Sisters of Canada, The Psychology Foundation of Canada, and Hope Haven Therapeutic Riding Centre.
We are fortunate, as a team, to experience good health, opportunity, and outcomes, and are compelled to share our good fortune to enhance our community.
Last year, Wood Gundy contributed $3.3 million to the total $6 million raised by CIBC for children’s charities. The video below shares memories of the day, where we met and learned from inspiring children who have been positively impacted by CIBC’s contributions, through both an event at the TSX and in our office.
Giving back is a priority for our team throughout the year, and we are proud to share that Lois was the top individual CIBC employee contributor for the CIBC Run for the Cure in 2023, raising over $65,000 for breast cancer research. This was achieved through the generous contributions of our community.
Lois’s fundraising contributed to the Wonder Women of Wealth (WWoW) team’s cumulative donation, which under her leadership, brings together colleagues from across the country.
The WWoW are on a mission to make a meaningful contribution to groundbreaking breast cancer research; and to encourage women to pursue wealth management as a career path.
When Lois started her career, 14% of Investment Advisors were women - that statistic remains relatively unchanged today.
We are pleased to share these important initiatives with you, that we will continue to benefit for the years to come. At this time of year in particular, we are privileged to have the ability to give back.
