2024 Tax Update

 

Smith Falconer Financial Group (SFFG) is proud to be able to leverage the expert insights of our CIBC team. This week, many of you joined us in an exclusive conversation with Benjamin Tal, Managing Director and Deputy Chief Economist, CIBC Capital Markets.

 

We would now like to spotlight his colleague, Jamie Golombek, CPA®, CFP, CLU®, Managing Director, Tax and Estate Planning, CIBC Private Wealth. He is often referred to as Canada’s leading tax expert.

 

His recent video (26:04), discusses 2024 tax planning and strategies. It caught our attention as it speaks to the recent capital gains inclusion rate changes – and the decision to realize gains each year as a cost-benefit analysis.
