The Expand Hope Foundation works with their field partner to build schools in Guatemala, and to facilitate Global Impact Trips.
The Expand Hope Foundation states publicly that it does not require any donations to fulfill its objects and mission as registered with the CRA Charities Directorate.
When it is referenced that the Expand Hope Foundation does not require any donations to operate, that is in reference to any donations outside of the founders, Marvin and Leah Schmidt, CIBC Miracle Day, and CIBC Children’s Foundation.
Marvin Schmidt is making the donation and NOT the client or anyone who referred a client.
Marvin Schmidt is making the donation through the CIBC Miracle Day and the CIBC Children's Foundation which in turn directs the donation to the Expand Hope Foundation which qualifies as a Canadian Qualified Program Relevant Charity as per CRA and the CIBC Children's Foundation.
Donations made are in respect of fees and commissions earned, other than insurance fees and commissions, in respect of new clients, during the first 18 months as a client of Marvin Schmidt and The Schmidt Investment Group.
The client will be charged fees or commission rates within The Schmidt Investment Group's standard range.
Any materials that reference the Expand Hope Foundation arrangement must be reviewed by the Supervisor and resident Edmonton Branch Manager, to ensure that the above meets the firm's internal requirements and that there are no conflicts of interest.
No one from The Schmidt Investment Group or CIBC may solicit donations from any client or vendor of The Schmidt Investment Group for the Expand Hope Foundation.
If CIBC or any member of The Schmidt Investment Group becomes aware of a client or member of The Schmidt Investment Group who independently elects to donate to or volunteer with the Expand Hope Foundation, he or she will be required to sign a "Non-Solicitation Statement" attesting to the fact that he or she was not solicited. If they cannot attest to this the donation will be requested to be returned or not accepted by Expand Hope Foundation.”
