Charities

So thrilled to be working with our community. And I'm so thrilled to be working with donors and helping them find their passion for our health care system and improving our community health.

The people who were here became like family over the course of having three children in the maternity ward and so this is an opportunity for us to give back. We've been working with the foundation for the better part 10 years now and the people that are part of foundation have become almost like an extension of our family as well.

If Neil and I can in some small way help the hospital become a better place. That to me makes a huge difference in not just our lives, but it will make a big difference in the lives of so many other people.

We have a number of projects going on on the campus right now. We're in the midst of $110 million redevelopment for our site. We have a hospice and res-care building being built on the surrey side of our campus and we have very excitingly a brand new emergency department, O.R. suite and medical device reprocessing building being built on our site.

The neat thing about this foundation is, is that it's actually not just all of a hospital it's really about healthy living as well, which I'm a big believer in. I mean, going back to the way that these tonight conduct our lives, you know, train and try to take care of herself so that we're as healthy as we can be as we get older. It's nice to see that the foundation has realized that part of their responsibility isn't just providing sort of end care. It's also providing prevention. I think that's something that's quite unique.

The Yarmoshuk family's support has been instrumental in helping us raise the profile of our hospital and our community through their support of the gala. And they've really allowed us to be able to expand and turn our gala into a true fundraising event for our hospital and our community. They have made such an investment in our health care and in health and wellness of our community, and we're just so grateful for their support.

Well, I'm very privileged to work alongside with the ladies that run the foundation. And I can tell you their passion and enthusiasm for the community is second to none. It's been unbelievable. I enjoy every minute that I get to work with them. And they are doing amazing things and making the difference. And that's what we need.
