[James Vickers

CIBC Wood Gundy]
We are doing some amazing things with some amazing advisors across the country.
[Robert Cancelli
Executive Vice-President and Head
CIBC Wood Gundy, Private Investment Counsel and Investor's Edge]
Robert: I'll start by saying Wood Gundy is a great franchise. We have a great culture. We have a great brand.

[Wilma Ditchfield
Senior Vice-President, National Office and Wealth Solutions

Wilma: It's like a village, you know, you work together, and you see each other every day and you want everybody to succeed.

[Moe Johnson
Senior Portfolio Manager
The Johnson, Johnston and Macrae Investment Group

Moe: Jamie has proven himself to be a very thoughtful person when it comes to bringing strength to this office, hiring good people.
[James smiles sitting in his office. The camera pushes in on 30 plus mail slots in the office mailroom.]
We have now about 35 people in that office.
[A montage of smiling faces of the Johnson, Johnston and Macrae (JJM) team looking at the camera.]
James: Each advisor is motivated by different things. They have different backgrounds. They have different experiences in this business.
[Moe meeting with a client in his office.]
Which is why it’s important to build a really authentic connection with them.
[James, Moe and Alicia Boutilier meeting in James’ office.]
Wilma: So, I can see, Jamie, how he worked so closely with everybody on his team, everybody in the branch. And you can really see that sense of pride and belonging.
[James, Moe, Wilma, Robert and Rob stand in a circle chatting. Moe and the JJM team meet in a boardroom.]
James: We have a wonderful leadership team who I think are very trusting of delegating a lot of the visionary aspect of that specific branch to their local leadership team, which I think is very powerful and allows us to kind of build our own unique brand.
Rob: We talk quite a bit about being entrepreneurial, and to me, being entrepreneurial is being their partner.
[James, Moe, Wilma, Robert and Rob stand in a circle chatting, then they walk down a hallway together.]
Understanding them, listening to the opportunities that they see in front of them for their business and for their clients.

Moe: Jamie's reinforced the relationship with our planners, with our estate planners, and with people in head office who’ve provided tremendous support in terms of technology.

This is all coming together for the benefit of our clients, and Jamie spearheaded a number of initiatives to make that happen.
James: The other way, I believe that that senior leadership is very supportive, is helping with recruiting in terms of being able to put together some very robust offers to competitive hires in the community.

Svitlana Karavay, who joined Moe’s team as an advisor, but really focusing on financial planning, was a great addition to the team.

Svitlana: Joining Moe’s team, I found the team is very collaborative.
[Svitlana leading a team meeting in a boardroom. A client smiles in Moe’s office.]
They do truly care about clients and that fits very well with my view of how clients should be treated.
[Moe shakes hands with the client in the lobby and then meets with him in his office.]
Moe: And make the clients feel comfortable and that they're being taken care of with respect to some complex planning issues.
[Moe walks with the client in a hallway.]
James: There’s so much value in what we do.
[The client talks with another advisor in an office.]
And I think that most of our clients know that. And making them well aware of the value of dealing with an advisor and with a team and the benefits of a longstanding relationship like that.
Moe: He's really kept in touch with a lot of very strong people in the community.
[James, Moe and Alicia Boutilier meeting in James’ office.]
[Alicia Boutilier
Chief Curator
Agnes Etherington Art Centre]
Alicia: Jamie Vickers first reached out to our team at Agnes Etherington Art Centre, Kingston’s premier art museum, inquiring about possible sponsorship opportunities.

I think that that comes out of a real deep seeded recognition of the value of the arts in connecting with community.

[Harold Parsons
Chief Executive Officer
BGC South East]
Harold: It was 25 years ago, and I remember then us talking about Boys and Girls Club and about what we're doing.
[The exterior of the BGC South East location in Kingston.]
And it's just fun that it's been 25 years later.
[A series of images inside BGC South East: Moe and Harold walk in a hallway; four large robotics competition banners hang on a wall; a ‘fighting robot’ sits on a gym mat; a basketball court with banners on the wall behind the net; a gym filled with workout machines; a large swimming pool.]
And, you know, you've always been a supporter through CIBC Wood Gundy and now pledging a quarter million dollars just shows where we've gone as an organization and the support that you've had for the last 25 years. From the kids perspective and from staff, we really appreciate that.

James: In Kingston, very special community, and one that I hope to be a part of for years to come.
[Moe and a client meet in his office.]
We always welcome, you know, an opportunity to meet and hear about what motivates, you know, your specific business and what your goals are, and to see if those would align with what we can put together for you at CIBC Wood Gundy.
