John-Paul graduated from the University of Windsor with a Business Administration and Economics degree in 2004. He joined CIBC Wood Gundy upon graduation. John-Paul has earned numerous financial industry designations such as the Certified Financial Planner (CFP), the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM), and the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He is also licensed in life, accident and disability insurance.
When he is away from the office, John-Paul enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as traveling.
Michael Bishop, B.Comm., FMA

Michael graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1998 and joined the team in October of that year. Michael served as an Associate Investment Advisor for many years before moving to a part-time role with the team in summer 2010 in order to spend more time with his young family (who are not so young anymore).
Michael continues to enjoy his part-time role with the team while also assisting a retired advisor write and publish several books focused on helping financial advisors serve their clientele more effectively and efficiently.
Michael lives in Toronto with his wife and two sons but looks forward to getting out of the city to enjoy all of the natural beauty and outdoor experiences that Southern Ontario offers whenever he has the opportunity.
Sidney Marentette, BA
Administrative Assistant
Sidney graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelors of Arts degree majoring in Music. Though her formal education lies in the Arts, she found a love for the financial industry when she joined CIBC in 2019. Sidney is currently enrolled in the (Canadian Securities Course) and plans to continue her education by completing the CPH® (Conduct and Practices Handbook).
When she is not working in the office, you can find Sidney photographing weddings, playing golf, singing, or planning her next adventure around the globe.
Raisa Rashid, BA
Administrative Assistant
Raisa recently completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics at York University. During her time at university, she already began working, and this experience further fueled her fascination with the financial industry.
Now working full-time, Raisa's interest in the investment sector has grown, prompting her to consider enrolling in the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and, after completing that, moving on to the Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH).
Outside of work, Raisa enjoys traveling, cooking for her loved ones, and spending quality time with friends and family. Additionally, she seeks excitement through thrilling activities like skydiving and skiing.
Everett Redfern, B.Comm.

Everett graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Commerce where he majored in Entrepreneurship.
Everett’s interests in investments stemmed from managing his own finances early on and his appreciation for building valuable, long lasting relationships with clients. He has successfully completed the CSC (Canadian Securities Course) and the CPH (Conduct and Practices Handbook) in March 2024 and is now registered with CIRO.
Outside of work, Everett’s interests and passions include golf, skiing, cooking, and traveling.
