Dan began at CIBC Wood Gundy as an Investment Advisor in 1995. Born and raised in Calgary, Dan graduated with an economics degree from the University of Calgary. He enjoys a good round of golf and spending his free time with his wife and three children.

Andrew Gallagher

Senior Wealth Advisor

Andrew started his career in financial services over 15 years ago, coming to the Kamitakahara Investment Team from CIBC's Imperial Service. He has held several advisory roles and brings leadership to his focus and passion for financial planning. Andrew is a CFP® professional, and graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Calgary. He loves the outdoors, enjoys golf, soccer, and spending time with his wife and two children.

Tammy Lee

Investment Advisor

With financial services experience that began in 1993, Tammy is proficient in industry regulations and administrative requirements. She is registered with CIRO and insurance licensed, so she may assist clients with their securities, options and administrative insurance needs. Tammy came to the Kamitakahara Investment Team and CIBC Wood Gundy in 2000 from another major Canadian bank. In her personal time, she enjoys golfing and snowboarding.

William Hesson, CIM®

Investment Advisor

William joined the Kamitakahara Investment Team after completing CIBC's PWM Rotational Program. During his time in the PWM Rotational Program, William gained experience at CIBC Private Banking, CIBC Wealth Solutions, and various Wood Gundy investment groups. He is registered with CIRO as a Registered Representative. Prior to moving to CIBC, he gained experience in audit and consulting at one of the Big Four accounting firms.

William is an accounting/finance graduate from the Haskayne School of Business and an alumnus of the U of C Dinos varsity soccer team. In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer, skiing, golfing, and cycling. Will is also an active member of the community, participating in both mentorship groups and charitable activities.

Michael Toan, CIM®

Financial Associate

Michael joined CIBC Wood Gundy and the Kamitakahara Investment Team in 2013 after transferring from a career in financial services at CIBC Bank. He is registered with CIRO to help clients with their securities, and insurance licensed. He graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Business Operations from a local technical school. In his free time, Michael likes to snowboard and play recreational hockey.

Dorota Peczek

Financial Associate

Dorota brings over 20 years of financial services experience and is proficient in industry regulation and administrative requirements. She is licensed to assist clients with their securities and options needs. Dorota joined the Kamitakahara Investment Team in 2005. Originally from Poland, she came to Canada after completing a pharmacy degree and once she settled in Canada, switched careers to accept an opportunity as an account manager at a major Canadian bank. Dorota enjoys yoga and international travel.

Miho Shimazu

Financial Associate

Miho recently joined CIBC Wood Gundy and the Kamitakahara Investment Team after gaining investment knowledge and experience previously at a full service investment firm.

She has strong background in industry regulations and compliance and brings proficient administrative support to the team.

She is licensed to assist clients with their securities and options needs. In her personal time, Miho enjoys running, hiking, climbing, camping, playing tennis, and skiing with her friends and her husband.

Keesha Nara

Client Associate

Keesha recently joined CIBC Wood Gundy and the Kamitakahara Investment Team as a Administrative Assistant. Keesha joined CIBC as a Customer Service Representative in 2013, and her portfolio includes Senior Customer Service Rep, Assistant Branch Manager, and Manager Client Experience.

With over 7 years experience in banking, Keesha recognizes that mutual understanding and trust form the foundation of strong working relationships.

Keesha loves traveling and exploring the different parts of the world. She enjoys interacting with new people and learning about different cultures. Keesha holds a Bachelor degree in Science from Mount Royal University.

Luke Anacker

Client Associate

Luke graduated from U of C with a degree in Psychology. He joined CIBC in 2000 as a Customer Service Representative and moved to CIBC Wood Gundy in 2005 as a Branch Assistant. For the past 15 years he has served as a Client Associate for CIBC Wood Gundy. Luke is well versed in client service and administration. He is licensed to assist with client transactional needs. Luke enjoys travel, cooking and salsa dancing.

Priya Nara

Client Associate

Priya has started her journey with CIBC Wood Gundy in 2022. As a new addition to the Kamitakahara Team and in her role of a Client Associate, she is eager to apply her knowledge, skills and committed to deliver an excellent client experience. She holds a Bachelor degree in Human Resources and a Diploma in Finance. Equipped with a strong background in office management and supporting team productivity, she works closely with the team to complete business transactions, to provide client services, and to fulfill administrative duties. In her spare time, she enjoys sketching, painting and spending time with her family.

Ryan Romanko, CFP, CLU

Estate Planning Specialist

Ryan has extensive insurance and estate planning expertise gained through nearly a decade of service to affluent clients. He and his team provide advice on insurance and wealth management strategies and services to select clients. By establishing trusted relationships Ryan serves our clients effectively, working in collaboration with other professional advisors to develop customized strategies that address our clients aims and hopes. Ryan has attained the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations, which demonstrate his ongoing commitment to education in order to better serve our clients.

Nicola has been a Certified Financial Planner for over 15 years and has held various positions in financial and estate planning. Nicola uses her knowledge and experience to help Canadian families achieve achieve financial goals and enjoy peace of mind. 

As a Financial Planning Specialist, her goal is to provide clients with a comprehensive financial planning experience taking an in-depth approach to understanding your unique situation.

As CIBC’s tax expert, Jamie supports CIBC Wood Gundy investment advisors in delivering integrated financial planning and advisory solutions to our high-net-worth clients. Jamie is quoted frequently in the national media and writes a weekly National Post column called Tax Expert.

Avery Shenfeld, PhD

Managing Director & Chief Economist, CIBC Capital Markets

Avery Shenfeld is Managing Director and Chief Economist of CIBC Capital Markets. He has been with CIBC since 1993 and is widely recognized as one of Canada's leading economists for his perceptive analysis and insight on economic developments and their implications for financial markets.

He is a repeat winner of the Dow Jones Market Watch forecasting award and has received awards for forecast accuracy on the U.S. and Canadian economies by Bloomberg Markets. He has also been consistently ranked as one of the top Canadian economists by institutional investors.

His prior background includes experience in management consulting. He was on the economics faculty at the University of Toronto and in the summer program at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government. He has addressed numerous business groups and has been quoted in the media in the United States, Canada, Asia and Europe.

Dr. Shenfeld holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard University.
