For 20 years, I have been proud to be involved with the Nanaimo Hospital Foundation. As you may know, our medical system is in dire need of community support. The CIBC Wood Gundy Nanaimo branch, which I am part of, has been able to assist with new operating rooms, new maternity ward, the renovation of the palliative care unit, and many other projects the hospital foundation is involved with. I believe in giving back to the community I work in, and the Nanaimo Hospital Foundation is a perfect fit for the business I am in as it touches each and every one of us at some point in time.
A little closer to home in Qualicum Beach, I have been involved with the local SOS. The SOS in Parksville is one of those hubs of any small community, helping families, single parents, kids, and seniors. I am happy to help this organization when I can as it is very important to our local community.
Being in the investment business and seeing our seniors living longer has given me a appreciation for Hospice care. Hospice has quickly become a very important organization in the Oceanside area because of its growing retirement community. They make sure nobody is left feeling alone in the later stages of life. I’m happy to be a supporter of the Oceanside Hospice Society in Qualicum Beach.
