Below, you'll find a summary of what you can expect from your interaction with us and CIBC Wood Gundy
The initial appointment is an informative meeting. The main purpose is for us to meet and get a feel for each another. We encourage you to ask as many questions as you can to take advantage of our time together. We also ask that you bring all of your financial statements so we can obtain a snapshot of your investment and retirement portfolios. We will ask you to speak about your financial goals and objectives, and tell us what your expectations are.
After our initial meeting we will prepare a written Investment Policy Statement (IPS) providing investment advice and suggesting a detailed course of action. Approximately one week after you receive this report, we will speak again. During this meeting the report will be reviewed and an investment strategy will be recommended. Once we both agree and are satisfied with the IPS, the plan will be implemented. Depending on your needs, we will meet biannually or annually to discuss the performance of your investment portfolios and to make sure your plan is still suitable to your objectives.
Working with Two Investment Advisors
Oliver and Jeff work as a partnership, with each offering a different skill set. Oliver tends to be analytical with respect to portfolio management and Jeff takes the lead managing the business and communicating with clients. Together we work with over 250 households managing close to $300 million in investible assets. We have great clients and are selectively adding to our practice.
Our investment philosophy can best be described as balanced. We are very focused upon preserving our clients' assets, and providing them with a tax advantaged income stream without impinging upon their capital. We have achieved growth in our clients' portfolios by owning high quality, best in class common stocks and bonds, and by being slightly contrarian in our views. We feel we offer value in four ways:
• Financial Planning: this is the cornerstone of our interaction.
• Asset Allocation: this is the single most important step in determining performance over the long-term.
• Security Selection: this is typically what people think we do, but we don't engage this step until we have an understanding of the first two.
• Ongoing Monitoring and Advice: we always have an opinion, and a view on every market. And we're constantly reviewing portfolios.

The main purpose of our interaction is for you to speak, and for us to listen. We want to know what is important to you and what you expect from our relationship up front. Our clients are the most important part of our business and we feel that communication is imperative and essential to a successful working relationship.
Fees
The fees vary depending upon the investment product, assets under management and the services requested. We are happy to discuss this with you at our initial meeting
