Patrick Ross, CFA, CFP®
Patrick started investing at age 12 with the savings from his 3 paper routes. He promptly invested in a local gold miner; a coveted company headquartered in his native Nova Scotia. Shortly thereafter the shares wiped out the bulk of his penny-a-paper proceeds. In studying what went wrong, Patrick discovered Warren Buffett and became an avid student of value investing, which he practices today with his team at CIBC Private Wealth.
Patrick studied finance at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, earning his 4-year degree in 3 years. Patrick was a Fund Manager with the university’s student-run IMPACT Investment Fund. Upon graduation Patrick worked in mergers and acquisitions investment banking before building his practice in wealth management.
In addition to investing across global financial markets, Patrick particularly enjoys implementing tax-efficient investment strategies to help ease overall tax burdens. Patrick earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, and completed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level I, Level II, and Level III examinations on his first attempt.
Yijie Tang, MBA, PFP
After receiving her undergrad in International Economy and Trade, Yijie decided to take a pass on a customs and border officer position, and instead landed within the banking industry. Yijie has her Professional Financial Planner (PFP) designation and an MBA degree from Dalhousie University.
Yijie is passionate about designing and implementing customized financial plans for clients, and believes that just as one should not drive without a GPS, investors should also have a planned route for their financial affairs. Yijie also speaks fluent Mandarin.
Noah Latimer
Originally from Kingston Ontario, Noah was drawn to the east coast after high school where he studied finance at Dalhousie University.
