As a Senior Wealth Advisor and a holder of the prestigious Certified Investment Manager Designation (CIM®), Don Promhouse is responsible for providing financial and estate planning advice to his clientele. He currently manages 450 million dollars of what he calls his partners' assets.
Background
After completing his Bachelor of Administration at the University of Regina in 1979 Don obtained ever increasing responsibilities in the financial sector. He joined Pemberton Houston Willoughby (a regional Investment Dealer) in 1986 as a financial consultant where he was tasked with the role of media representative for the branch.
Designations and Awards
Don is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute and a Certified Investment Manager. In 1997, he was a recipient of the Investment Dealers Association Regional Award of Distinction; an annual award that recognizes excellence and the highest standards of professionalism in the investment industry. In January 1998, his investment process was featured in a national trade publication "Investment Executive." Don authored a weekly article using questions from a fictitious couple on their financial affairs called "Smart Money". He was a guest lecturer at the University of Regina in the late 80's and into the 90's.
Philanthropic Work
Don is known for his philanthropic and educational work and currently mentors students from the Paul Hill School of Business. He has been involved with the Regina Progress Club for 20 years and served as President and Chairperson for their major charity "Camp Circle O' Friends" (a camp for kids affected by cancer). He was instrumental in starting the H.J. Promhouse Scholarship Fund in Mathematics at the University of Regina and has been a large donator to the Saskatchewan Children's Hospital. Don has also been supporting the YWCA.
Personal
Don is married to Lorraine (for 45 years) and has 3 children who have started families of their own. Jon and Chelsea have a son, Jack and a daughter, Leia; Michael has a daughter Gemma and Jacqueline has a son, Hudson and a daughter, Blakely. Don enjoys reading financial publications, spending his summers at the lake and getting together with friends and family.

Senior Portfolio Manager
Jon brings an extensive knowledge base to the team with almost 20 years of financial services and investment industry experience. Growing up in the industry (as Don is his father) it was a natural fit joining the family business. His passion for helping others and managing client’s wealth goes back to a young age when the values of treating others with honesty and integrity were instilled in him. He couldn’t be more excited to be part of a multi-generational family business and to continue a nearly 40-year legacy that has focused on treating clients with honesty, integrity, and putting clients' interests first to achieve their goals.
Jon leads the team and works directly with clients to provide advice, implement our Model Portfolios, and provide custom planning and investment solutions. Jon holds a degree from the University of Regina and has completed a variety of Investment courses through the Canadian Securities Institute. He holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation and is titled as a Portfolio Manager allowing him to manage clients’ money on a discretionary basis. As the teams Portfolio Manager, he is also in charge of monitoring and maintaining client’s investments, asset mix, daily trading, and investment selection.
Jon, his wife, Chelsea, their daughter, Leia, and son, Jack, are proud to call Regina home. Jon is an active member of the Canadian Progress Club for the past 10 years and has chaired and ran the club’s events. Jon and his family believe in giving back to the community in any way possible. Jon is a strong supporter of "Camp Circle O' Friends", the MS Society, Movember, Canadian Mental Health Association, the Children’s Hospital Foundation, and the H.J. Promhouse Scholarship Fund in Mathematics at the University of Regina, to name a few. If not at the hockey rink or a soccer filed, the Promhouse's can be found relaxing and spending time with family and friends at the lake. Jon enjoys travelling, snowmobiling, and supporting the Saskatchewan Roughriders as a season-ticket holder.
Michael Urbanski
Associate Investment Advisor
Michael has been in the financial services industry since 2017. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree along with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He has received numerous scholarships and achievements throughout his university career. Michael works closely with Don and Jon to build client presentations for retirement & estate planning perspectives. He is fully registered to place trades and provide advice to clients.
Michael has volunteered with the Regina Big Brothers program and enjoys the outdoors. He loves to go hiking with his dog, Romeo.
Joey Johannsen
Client Associate
Joey has been with Wood Gundy for 35 years. Her role primarily has been of an administrative nature, but she also held the position of Branch Administrator for 13 years during that time. Joey is licensed as a Registered Representative but her focus on this team will be more of the administrative side of the business. She is the mother of three, and a grandmother to three. Besides family, some of her favorite things are spending time (with her son) at Rider games, spending time at the lake, and travelling.
Tracy Schoenthal
Administrative Associate
Tracy has been with CIBC for 10 years. During her time with CIBC she has provided excellent customer service and administrative duties in roles such as branch support and being a Financial Associate. Tracy lives with her husband Cory and their 2 sons, Brayden and Trance, in Regina. In her free time Tracy loves spending time with her family at their cabin year Round doing activities such as snowmobiling, boating, and relaxing.
