Hannes immigrated from Pretoria, South Africa in 2003 and finished his last year of High School at Lord Dorchester Secondary School. Having spent his childhood in South Africa he has a passion for the outdoors and considers himself a bit of a Rugby Fanatic.
After High School he went on to complete his Undergraduate Honors Degree from the University of Waterloo with a double minor. During his studies he played as a member of the Warriors Men’s Varsity Rugby team.
Combining his academic passion for mathematics, critical thinking and finance with his passion for helping people he went on to complete his post-graduate Diploma from Fanshawe College in Professional Financial Services where he graduated on the Deans Honors List.
With the desire to improve his knowledge and ability to provide industry leading investment advice to his clients, he completed his Master of Business Administration from The University of Toronto - Rotman School of Business in 2021 where he double majored in Investment Banking and Fund Management.
He started his career in Wealth Management in 2009 focusing on providing clients Wholistic Wealth Management. As part of this pursuit he completed and holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Personal Financial Planner (PFP®), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) as well as the prestigious Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) designations.
Hannes along with his wife Melanie Olivier and their three boys Max, Sterling and Oskar live in Woodstock where Melanie is originally from. In his free time, he enjoys competing in Triathlons and Hyrox/CrossFit competitions.
