Luke an Investment Advisor with CIBC Wood Gundy, CIBC Private Wealth, has over 12 years of experience working with some of the largest financial institutions in Canada. Complementing his diverse achievements, Luke holds Designations as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) Personal Financial Planner (PFP) and the Fellow of Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI). He brings a strategic approach to managing wealth and ensuring a comprehensive financial strategy for his clients. He implements a “Simple Beats Complex" Investment Philosophy driven by statistical data.
Before Finance
Luke graduated at the top of his class in Mechanical Technology Engineering. Beyond academics, his endeavors include successful personal real estate ventures, involving both rental properties and development projects. Venturing into entrepreneurship, he founded and built a multinational business with partners that garnered success and was eventually acquired by venture capitalists. Alongside these accomplishments, his involvement with his family’s farms adds a dimension of insight into the complexity’s of working with a diverse client set.

Michael’s financial planning philosophy stems from more than just learning about your financial goals. It is about understanding you; your values, concerns and aspirations. With years of experience developing diverse comprehensive financial plans for high and ultra-high net worth clients, Michael is able to paint a clear financial picture of your situation and create a roadmap to help you achieve your goals. He is equipped to provide sophisticated advice on various facets of financial planning including tax, retirement, business and estate planning. Having earned his Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Investment Manager designations, Michael has built his career on advising clients for over a decade.
David Duong, CPA, CMA, CIM, CLU

David enjoys working with high-net-worth families, business owners, and senior executives to preserve their wealth through the use of tax, insurance, trust and estate planning strategies.
David draws on his wealth planning experiences to provide a team-based approach by involving a client’s non-CIBC advisors (i.e., lawyer, accountant) and partners at CIBC.
David has a passion for financial literacy and formerly served as an Advisory Board member on CPA Canada's Financial Literacy Program.

Geoff Booth
Estate Planning Specialist
Geoff believes that a tailored approach is essential when implementing insurance solutions that are designed to preserve, enhance, transfer and protect the wealth of clients, whether personal or corporately owned.
Geoff has earned many professional designations throughout his career, including the CFP, CLU, CHS and CEA designations. Geoff also earned his Bachelor of Sports Management (BSM) Degree from Brock University.
Geoff resides in Oakville with his wife Jenn and daughter Emma.
Away from the office, you can find Geoff at the cottage with his family or playing recreational sports at the local hockey rink, baseball diamond, or golf course.

Avery Shenfeld, PhD
Managing Director & Chief Economist, CIBC Capital Markets
Avery Shenfeld is Managing Director and Chief Economist of CIBC Capital Markets. He has been with CIBC since 1993 and is widely recognized as one of Canada's leading economists for his perceptive analysis and insight on economic developments and their implications for financial markets.
He is a repeat winner of the Dow Jones Market Watch forecasting award and has received awards for forecast accuracy on the U.S. and Canadian economies by Bloomberg Markets. He has also been consistently ranked as one of the top Canadian economists by institutional investors.
His prior background includes experience in management consulting. He was on the economics faculty at the University of Toronto and in the summer program at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government. He has addressed numerous business groups and has been quoted in the media in the United States, Canada, Asia and Europe.
Dr. Shenfeld holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard University.

Benjamin Tal is responsible for analyzing economic developments and their implications for North American fixed income, equity, foreign exchange and commodities markets. He also acts in an advisory capacity to bank officers on issues related to wealth management, household/corporate credit and risk. Benjamin is a regular commentator on financial and economic trends in the Canadian and American media.
