Many Canadian investors are challenged by a variety of issues such as high money management costs (often misunderstood or unknown) and unfulfilled opportunities due to lack of financial and estate planning.
With over seventy-five years of combined industry experience, Neil, Rick, Susan and Graeme have developed an investment management practice that is ranked in the top two percent (by Vancouver Wealth Managers, an outside survey company); and they are consistently ranked in the top of their field in a comprehensive (biannual) CIBC Wood Gundy client survey. They currently manage well over $1 Billion of client assets.
Their objectives are simple; deliver above average returns with below average risk and cost. In addition, the team provides clients with professional and responsive customer service and comprehensive financial and estate planning.
They utilize a model portfolio which adheres to the following disciplines:
- Periodically reviewing your personal objectives to ensure your investments align with your financial goals, risk tolerance and time frame.
- Maintaining a highly diversified, high quality (blue chip) portfolio of both public and privately valued investments.
- Investing in government and corporate bonds, high-yielding Canadian REITs, preferred shares, Canadian and U.S. large cap common stocks, low-cost exchange traded funds (ETFs), and privately valued “pools” of mortgages, bonds, loans and commercial real estate.
The PAC Financial Team’s methodology is somewhat ‘contrarian’ and value oriented in that they overweight lower priced areas of markets. Over time, this has added to returns and decreased risk (by reducing exposure to popular, high-priced investments that often tend to disappoint investors going forward).
They also practice a disciplined re-balancing strategy where client portfolio’s three main assets classes, (equity, fixed income, and privately valued assets), are rebalanced back to desired weightings - by selling one asset class at a high and buying the other asset class at a low.
The PAC Financial Team provides clients with a detailed and personalized (written) financial plan and monitors this with you, benchmarking projected account values with actual results. Personalized performance reporting (that compares your returns vs. benchmark index averages) is also provided at every meeting (and is attached to December statements annually). Clients leave the office with a future portfolio review meeting already pre-booked (ensuring ongoing personalized reviews). Meetings are available in person, “virtually” or by telephone.
The team very much believes in giving back to the community, and actively supports CIBC Wood Gundy’s Children’s Miracle Foundation and a number of other worthy charities.
