Giving Together
Throughout the year, we give back to our community by donating a portion of our fees, participating in fundraising activities and volunteering our time. We aim our impact close to home. Each of these local charities has caught our eye with the work they do. We hope you get a chance to look into the unique programs run by each, and we feel extremely fortunate to be able to support their efforts as they serve so many in need.
Strathcona Breakfast For Kids and Backpack Program
We have been proud supporters of this program for nearly a decade. Their community centre feeds over 275 local underprivileged children, providing nutritious meals that play an important role in their daily lives. By offering breakfasts for kids during the week and sending them home with backpack full of food for the weekend, the Strathcona Community Centre Association continues to leave an impact we are very happy to support. This year’s Run for the Cure raised over $15 million and we were proud to be participating as part of the WG Wonder Women of Wealth team, which has raised over $1,000,000 nationally across CIBC Wood Gundy female Investment Advisors since forming the team in 2020. (Visit Website)
Plunge for the Cure
Ovarian cancer has a 30% survival rate in 5 years. Ten years ago, ovarian cancer had a five-year survival rate of 0%. Plunge for the Cure was made for the common goal of crushing ovarian cancer. Our group is proud to support and to have led CIBC's participation in the 2024 Plunge for the Cure event that raised funds for drug and treatment development for ovarian cancer through the world-renowned UBC/CGH research facilities in Vancouver.
