Fiona Brodie, BA, CIM
Investment Advisor
With over 30 years financial markets experience, Fiona works one-on-one with affluent individuals and families with assets over $1 million to achieve consistent investment results through income and growth portfolios.
Fiona provides an extremely high standard of service and dedication to client contact, building relationships that are in many cases multi-generational. Both sophisticated and novice investors alike find her thoroughness and advice refreshingly insightful. Fiona's clients place enormous trust in her to provide appropriate advice with integrity, which is the keystone of her business.
Investing is a big responsibility, and for those new to investing, or requiring a second opinion, she welcomes your call. Everyone's needs and goals are different, and your financial situation will evolve over time. Articulating and reviewing what you want your money to do is critical.
Fiona works with a team of experts who are available to her clients in the areas of private banking, financial planning, and insurance and estate planning. Each household with over $1 million in assets under administration is offered a detailed financial plan at no cost.
Investment Approach:
The best investment strategy is one with which you are comfortable.
While diversification and deliberate asset allocation are the cornerstone of long term investment results, each client of Fiona’s has different risk tolerance and income requirements, hence her approach is bespoke to each individual’s circumstances.
Fiona is incredibly detail oriented and her clients rely on her factual recall and continuity of portfolio oversight as topics are discussed and revisited during the year.
Fiona’s clients pay her to stay informed and relay market and industry outlook and insight. She stays in regular contact with her clients to convey timely tactical and strategic investment decisions that will improve the resiliency, long term performance and risk profile of the portfolios she manages.
Building a portfolio is like building an apartment building – we do it floor at a time, then improvements are made along the way, for long term appreciation while collecting rent.
She routinely delves into the emotion around investing and how investor behaviour impacts results for better and worse. Fiona’s informed, stable approach will guide you when you need it most so you can sleep at night. As a significant and seasoned market participant herself she understands how important it is to allocate investment capital carefully and how diversification pays long term rewards.
Investment seeds take time to grow through income and capital appreciation – in the long run it is time not timing that makes all the difference.
In regular contact with industry research and experts, economists and respected portfolio managers that sub-advise for her, as well as voraciously reading the financial news, Fiona always has an opinion on direction and thoughtfully addresses portfolio construction to meet your investment objectives.
