Jeff Harris, BA, CIM
Jeff grew up in Vancouver, BC were he received his BA in Economics and Political Science from Simon Fraser University.
After university Jeff spent 11 years in the RCMP, mostly in NB and BC. As a member of the RCMP, Jeff spent six months with the UN in the Former Yugoslavia. As a result of his actions there, Jeff was awarded The Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, Priory of Canada. Jeff's last posting was in the Vancouver Commercial Crime Section where he investigated major Investment Fraud.
Jeff has been an Investment Advisor for the last 25 years with CIBC Wood Gundy. He is currently registered with CIRO in NT, BC, AB, ON, NB, NS and PEI. As well, Jeff is a Portfolio Manager and holds his Canadian Investment Manager (CIM™) designation. Jeff has also been a longstanding member of the Responsible Investment Association.
Jeff and his wife Ellen have three boys - John, Nick and Sam. Jeff is an active member of his community.
Dan LaCosta, MBA
Dan was born and raised in Labrador City, Newfoundland. Prior to his career in the financial industry, Dan had the opportunity to play 5 seasons of professional hockey between the ECHL/AHL/NHL and a season in Europe. After playing professional hockey, which included a stint in the NHL with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Dan decided to move to Fredericton to play hockey for the UNB Reds. During his time at UNB, Dan earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree graduating with honors, and also won a National Championship with the Men's Hockey team in 2013. After his final season with UNB, Dan went on to play one more year in Europe while earning his MBA, graduating with distinction from Cardiff Metropolitan University.
Dan started working for CIBC in 2014 and has held various roles within the Bank, starting in a personal banking role and gradually progressing through the Commercial Banking segment. Prior to joining CIBC Wood Gundy, Dan was the Senior Manager & Team Leader for CIBC’s Mid-Market Commercial Banking segment for NB & PEI, and was responsible for dealing with a diverse portfolio of private and public sector clients throughout the region. Dan is actively involved in the community between his hockey school and various charities and non-profits. He and his wife, Katie, have a young son and daughter who all now consider Fredericton to be their home.
Nicole Flemming, BA
Nicole is an accomplished professional with a strong background in the wealth management industry, boasting over eight years of experience in the field. Originally from Carleton County, New Brunswick, Nicole embarked on her academic journey at the University of New Brunswick, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Her commitment to professional growth is evident through her completion of CSI courses including the CSC (Canadian Securities Course), CPH (Conduct and Practices Handbook), and WME (Wealth Management Essentials).
Prior to her current role at CIBC Wood Gundy, she spent five successful years at another firm, where she honed her skills and deepened her understanding of wealth management. Nicole brings a high level of attention to detail in her role, using her analytical and critical thinking skills she assists the team with planning and client administration. Nicole lives just outside of Fredericton with her husband and 2 daughters, and has been able to gracefully balance her career demands with the rewarding family life.

In addition to his sales and management roles, he also brings experience from the actuarial side of the desk. This perspective allows him to have a deeper understanding in dealing with insurance needs. Bruce brings with him a strong analytical and mathematical background, having earned his MSc. in Mathematics from Dalhousie University.

Thomas is a proponent of wealth management and believes that the key to successful financial planning is listening to clients’ needs and life objectives with a focus on how the use of life insurance can assist them in achieving their goals. He previously worked at one of the most successful independent financial planning firms where he primarily provided estate planning and retirement solutions. In addition to his sales and client relationship experience, Thomas also worked with one of the largest insurance companies on the product service and development side allowing him to build in-depth knowledge of current and past insurance products.

Struan believes that a key component of any wealth management plan is an estate plan; one that protects our clients and their families, their assets, preserves their legacy and ensures that their plans occur as desired. For complex estate and trust issues, he draws on the expertise of CIBC partners, recommends external professionals and acts as an objective third-party to help develop solutions and coordinate communication.
Administering an estate, trust or acting as an attorney for property is time-consuming and requires a knowledge of many different areas. Struan and his team have the expertise to execute or assist others with the execution of those roles effectively and efficiently.
