Gerry Hines, a Senior Portfolio Manager and Wealth Advisor at CIBC Wood Gundy, brings over 35 years of experience advising high-net-worth families, foundations, and mutual insurers. Known for his dedication to client service and long-standing relationships, he focuses on capital preservation, strategic growth, and sustainable cash flow.
He holds an honors degree in finance and has earned the prestigious Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM) designation, which is held by fewer than 1.5% of advisors in Canada. This globally recognized credential equips him to address the complex financial needs of affluent clients.
Gerry oversees four mandates: Canadian Fixed Income, Global Balanced, Global Dividend, and Global Growth Income, reflecting his deep expertise and substantial assets under management.
Sheldon Hines, BA, CIM, FCSI
Sheldon Hines graduated from Western University with a major in Sociology in 2009. He launched his career as a Financial Advisor at another financial institutions. In 2016, he joined CIBC Wood Gundy, where he expanded his ability to offer a full suite of wealth management services.
Sheldon specializes in developing dynamic wealth management plans, integrating financial planning, estate planning, private banking, life insurance, and risk management to help clients proactively achieve their long-term financial objectives.
Outside of work, he is an avid sports enthusiast—engaging in volleyball, baseball, sailing, and skiing. He has also previously dedicated time to community service with organizations including King’s University College and Rotary.
Joanne Hines, CIWM, BA
Joanne holds a degree in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University. For the past 17 years, Joanne has focused on Wealth Planning. She holds a CIWM designation (Certified International Wealth Management). This designation offers unique knowledge and skills to address the complex needs of High Net Worth clients.
Due to the unique team structure at CIBC Hines Investments, Joanne is able to focus her time building client relationships and addressing all aspects of Wealth Planning. Wealth Planning is unique to every client. Managing the overall family planning takes a great deal of time, patience and communication to understand and address the many facets of each clients’ Wealth needs. The more care and time taken ensures each client is well informed to make the best decisions for themselves and their heirs.
Joanne also has a specialized focus on assisting Women who are in the midst of a divorce or recently widowed and require guidance and advice critical to their financial needs. This area of expertise requires education, support and time that she is willing to devote to ensure they are making good decisions for themselves and their estate during one of the most vulnerable and difficult times in their lives. Note: Women in general typically have more disruptions in their lives that can impact their income and future retirement than men (not just divorcing & widowed). Understanding the impact of the various life stages most women encounter is important to know, in order to secure a better financial future. Since 2015, Joanne been active in the community as co-founder of 100 Women Who Care Sarnia-Lambton which has to-date (Sep-24) raised over $300,000 for local charities in Sarnia-Lambton in just 23 meetings & 23 hours. She is a past board member of the Physician’s Recruitment Task Force of Sarnia Lambton, previous Big Sister (Big Brothers Big Sisters) in Sarnia, past board member for Westmount Golf & Country Club, Co-founding Board Member of CanWit (Canadian Women in Technology), past Committee member for Cambridge Community Foundation and CIBC Run for the Cure.
