Gerald Hines, CIWM, B.B.A., FCSI
Gerry Hines is a Senior Portfolio Manager and First Vice-President at CIBC Wood Gundy. For over 35 years, he has been a trusted wealth advisor to high net worth families, foundations and mutual insurance companies. Gerry's high standard for client service and achieving client goals is demonstrated in not only the length of service to families and institutions but also their willingness to provide letters of reference acknowledging these facts.
Gerry brings a comprehensive knowledge of many financial areas to bear on a client's total financial requirements, crafting strategies to provide peace of mind. The primary goals of Hines Investment Management is to preserve capital and provide growth, while generating cash flow.
Gerry has an honours degree in finance, with a focus on portfolio management. He has continued his education throughout his career, most recently completing the Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM) designation, held by less than 1.5%* of advisors across Canada. The CIWM designation is recognized worldwide as a top credential for wealth management. It ensures that financial professionals have the knowledge and skills to address the complex needs of high-net-worth clients. This three year study equips Gerry to provide advice that demonstrates his understanding of the complex and changing needs of the affluent clients and corporations.
Gerry has been promoted to Senior Portfolio Manager due to his tenure and assets under management on a discretionary basis. He currently manages four proprietary mandates: Canadian Fixed Income, Global Balanced, Global Dividend and Global Growth Income.
Sheldon Hines, BA, CIM, FCSI
Sheldon Hines graduated with a Major in Sociology from Western University in 2009. He started his career as a Financial Advisor at one of Canada's largest financial institutions in London, Ontario. His investment knowledge and passion for creating meaningful customer relationships lead him to become one of the top Financial Advisors in Southwestern Ontario. In 2016, he joined CIBC Wood Gundy, where he has the ability to expand his wealth management knowledge for the benefit of our clients.
Sheldon explores all the aspects of wealth management through in-depth reviews, which include estate planning, private banking, life insurance and financial planning. This process builds long term objectives from which he constructs a customized investment portfolio, to achieve client goals.
In his spare time, Sheldon enjoys playing a variety of sports including volleyball, baseball, sailing and skiing. He is an active member of the community and volunteers his time to non-profit organizations such as King's University College and Rotary.
Joanne Hines, CIWM, BA
Joanne Hines holds a degree in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University. She has worked in the financial field since graduation in 1985, taking some time away to raise a family. For the past 10 years, Joanne has acted as a relationship manager at Hines Investment Management and has excelled at ensuring client's lifestyle goals are realistic and followed through. She has accumulated many client accolades not only for her dedication to their results, but the effective way in which she communicates with clients, to ensure desired results are achieved.
In addition to ensuring client lifestyle programs remain on track, Joanne has oversight responsibilities for the external managers that are utilized at Hines Investment Management. Joanne works closely with the Due Diligence team at CIBC, providing independent analysis and continuous review of manager performance measurement, interviews, operations assessment and management policies.
Joanne has been very active in the community as co-founder of 100 Women Who Care Sarnia-Lambton (www.100whocaresarnia.com), board member on the Physician Recruitment Task Force of Sarnia Lambton, as well as serving in the past as board member for Westmount Golf & Country Club, CanWit (Canadian Women in Technology), Committee member for Cambridge Community Foundation and CIBC Run for the Cure.
