RICHARD LAPOINTE: Most people enter retirement feeling uncomfortable. They don't feel they have enough money. My goal is to make sure that they feel comfortable in their retirement. I'm Richard Lapointe, investment advisor and portfolio manager with CIBC Wood Gundy. Started in 1990 as an investment advisor at the age of 22. I've only done one job. This is what I have a passion for.

GIANCARLO CATALDO: You're helping people. People have a sincere need for this. They depend on this and you get to service them. The fact that I'm able to do that is what keeps me going. My name is Giancarlo Cataldo, I'm an associate investment advisor with CIBC Wood Gundy.

RICHARD: We're covered call writers. We use options in the safest possible mandate to generate an extra stream of income. Our goal is to make sure your money spits off more every month. Every time we buy a stock, it pays a dividend. That dividend comes in every three months. We generate a second three-month stream of income by writing a call option, which means that we cap the upside of the stock for that extra stream of money that comes in. You've got the dividend, the call premium, and the potential growth on the stock. We believe covered call writing takes away the one great problem clients have with investments, when to sell.
Taking away that emotion on the sale, takes away 90% of the problems of investing. We think this is the best way for money to be managed at a retail level. Very few investment advisors choose to do it this way. We're very hands-on and we're very yield-oriented. It's incredibly transparent, incredibly communicative. We profess to always be reachable. When you call my office, a human body will answer, regardless of the time of the day. We forward our phones to our cell phones so you are in constant communication with us. We've got three major partners that we deal with inside of CIBC that we're very, very close with private banking.
I've got great relationships in private banking, banking relationships that can allow for clients to not only look at the investment needs, but the borrowing needs. We've also joined in CIBC Trust as I use it for my own estate, my own management, should I pass away, it takes away the conflict upon death.

RICHARD: We've been doing a lot of work on estate planning, covering insurance and tax needs upon death, they've become essential to helping clients preserve the wealth that Giancarlo and I are building.
