Ronald McDonald House Charities Saskatchewan (RMHC-SK) provides safe and comforting spaces for families caring for their sick child receiving medical treatment in Saskatchewan. Our locations in Saskatoon and Prince Albert keep families together during challenging times so that it reduces stress and provides families with a hopeful, and positive environment. Families receive amenities, meals, and access to medical-free spaces and/or accommodations while they are away from their homes, jobs, and support networks.
Haven Kids’ House (formerly Saskatoon Crisis Nursery) is a loving temporary home for children when their family needs Haven House. They offer emergency childcare 24/7, 365 days a year, providing a safe haven for children aged 0-12 years in times of crisis. Their Kids’ House is a place of caring and safety, so that kids can be kids, and parents can be successful. Emergency childcare gives families the support and space they need so they can get through. Parents/Caregivers trust Haven Family Connections to take care of their kids while they weather the storm. When families need them, they're here to support them.
Summer Fun, that SaskAbilities runs, is a summer program offered in all branches that provides children and youth experiencing disability the opportunity to experience a variety of community-based, outdoor, and group recreational activities aimed at fostering community inclusion, encouraging social skill development and increasing the self-confidence and self-esteem of participants.
Dorie's House, which is part of the Southwest Youth Emergency Shelter, offers an in-patient and out-patient treatement program for youth who struggle with substance misuse. They provide opportunities to evaluate how the misuse impacts their own lives and lives of those around them. Their goal is to help empower youth so they can make healthy, informed-decisions on their own. They provide group, educational, and recreational programming tailored to meet their needs.
