Avin has been closely involved with the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) for over 23 years. The ICCC's mandate for the past 40 years has been to facilitate bilateral trade and investment between India and Canada and to help new Canadian's of South Asian background assimilate comfortably in society. Avin has been Chair of the Mentorship and New Immigrants Committee, where he was able to connect highly successful Indo-Canadian entrepreneurs and professionals to assist newcomers for successful transition. For his contributions, Avin was awarded the Member of the Year Award for 2015, in ICCC's Annual Gala and Awards Ceremony held on June 6, 2015.

Montreal Exchange Expert Panelist

Avin was part of an expert panel at the Montreal Exchange (MX) Options Conference for Investment Advisors and Portfolio Managers in May 2013, attended by over 70 investment professionals. The conference was hosted by the MX in collaboration with the Options Industry Council (OIC) USA. Avin explained how options are an excellent portfolio management tool that can be used for generating income and managing downside risk in client portfolios. Avin was exclusively selected by the MX for this role, since he has successfully integrated options trading within his practice. The MX requested him to share his perspective on key factors influencing the success of managing an options portfolio so that other option-licensed advisors can learn how to apply versatile option tools within their own practice.

Avin was on the Panel of three option experts for the 2017 Montreal Exchange Option Education Day, at the Westin Harbor Castle in Downtown Toronto. This workshop was attended by over 250 retail investors.
