Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure

CIBC employees play a significant role in making the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure one of the country’s most successful and respected volunteer-led fundraising events. Our employee volunteers rally colleagues, clients, family and friends to run, walk, fundraise and volunteer to support a cause that’s close to our hearts.

Easter Seals Annual Telethon

The local telethon is an event that brings awareness to the challenges and the inspiring victories of children and youth with physical disabilities, while raising imperative funds for Easter Seals kids. The Intrinsic Financial Group has not only been a proud financial supporter of the telethon for over 10 years, but each year, members of our team volunteer at the event as well. In 2018 we made a $10,000 donation to the telethon in honour of our friend and colleague, Joe Maione, who passed away in 2017. We had the telethon donor board named in memory of Joe and made a commitment to continue to sponsor the board going forward.

Group Health Centre (GHC)

Group Health Centre (GHC) is a community health centre serving over 80,000 patients in our community. While GHC receives government funding, there is no funding for medical equipment for the Centre. In 2017, Intrinsic Financial Group made a significant contribution toward GHC's Fetal Echocardiography program; the study of a baby's pea-sized heart while it is still in-utero. This program is the only one of its kind in Northern Ontario, and our support will help ensure the families who need these services will have access to them for years to come.

Sault Area Hospital Foundation

The Sault Area Hospital is a place in our community that is relied upon by all our citizens at one point, or another. Although partially funded by the province, the hospital relied heavily on members of the community to ensure they stay ahead of the ever changing healthcare needs of our city. In 2015, the Intrinsic Financial Group fully funded two new pieces of medical equipment in the maternity ward, to increase care for some of the youngest patients in this community.

Arch Community Hospice

The Arch hospice is a place in the community that has had a profound effect on the families that have been touched by the care and generosity of our own citizens. Recently, a need was recognized at Arch to be able to provide for children who need palliative care. We were moved by a story of a family in our community that had to travel 500 miles to receive palliative care for their daughter. We decided to support this program, in the hope that families will be able to retain this type of care in Sault Ste. Marie.

PossAbility Homes

PossAbility Community Homes is a not-for-profit housing corporation that was founded in November 2009 by Barb & Tim Gjos. PossAbility Community Homes was established to provide quality, affordable and accessible housing in rural areas, that people with a disability can call "home." The Intrinsic Financial Group is a proud supporter of PossAbility and its initiative.
