Lee Appleton, CFA
Lee provides discretionary portfolio management services to clients seeking to achieve their long-term financial goals. With over 12 years of experience in institutional investment management, Lee brings a wealth of expertise in quantitative research, strategy optimization, and mutual fund management. His previous roles include serving as lead manager of a Canadian Equity Mutual Fund, chairing a Canadian Equity Working Group, and participating as a member of an investment committee responsible for strategic asset allocation.
Lee is recognized for his strong analytical acumen and interpersonal skills, which enable him to deliver client-focused solutions tailored to individual needs. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation as a Portfolio Manager. Lee has also contributed to the financial industry as a guest on Business News Network (BNN) and CBC, and as a contributor to the Globe and Mail and Dow Jones news services.
Deeply committed to community engagement, Lee is an active volunteer and currently serves as a student mentor for the Okanagan College Student Investment Fund. He previously dedicated over nine years to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation, where he held positions as Director, Board Treasurer, and Chair of the Finance and Administration Committee, as well as Chair of the Investment Sub-Committee. Additionally, Lee is a former president, treasurer, and director of the CFA Society Okanagan.
Outside of his professional and volunteer commitments, Lee enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, including hiking, road and mountain biking, and cross-country skiing. He values the opportunity to balance his professional responsibilities with an active lifestyle and meaningful community involvement.
Ida Kastak
With over 11 years of experience in the banking industry, Ida has developed a well-rounded skill set that includes expertise in sales, mortgages, personal banking, consumer loans, personal investing, and delivering exceptional customer service. Since joining Appleton Investment Partners three years ago, she has drawn on her extensive background to support the everyday needs of clients, ensuring they receive the highest level of care and attention. Her organizational skills and commitment to excellence make her an invaluable member of the team.
Outside of work, Ida treasures time with her three children and is an active volunteer at their school, contributing to the community and supporting their education. A proud Kelowna resident, she also embraces the region’s warm climate and vibrant wineries, making the most of all the area has to offer.
Tyler Olsen
Tyler Olsen brings a strong academic foundation and a passion for finance to his work. He specializes in providing organizational support and leveraging his analytical skills to help the team deliver exceptional service to clients.
Tyler graduated from Okanagan College with a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in Finance and minoring in Communications. During his time at Okanagan College, he was an active member of the Okanagan College Student Investment Fund, where he developed comprehensive research reports and financial models, presenting his findings to the investment committee. He also competed in the Chartered Business Valuators Competition, where he showcased his analytical and problem-solving abilities, finishing in second place.
Outside of work, Tyler enjoys staying active and embracing the outdoors. He is an avid hockey player, golfer, and hiker, finding balance and inspiration through his love for sports and nature. Additionally, Tyler will be working with the Okanagan College Student Investment Fund, sharing his expertise with the next generation of students.
