Lacas Advisory Group
Spreading a little cheer this Holiday Season with a visit to Hope Cottage; lending a hand to support a great pillar in our community. When we asked our clients what organizations we should support, Hope Cottage was one of the top picks. After spending a morning there with the outstanding staff and guests, I can see why. Great to experience this with my team and thankful for the staff of Hope cottage for this monumental and rewarding opportunity. We would also like to acknowledge one of our clients, Shirley, for coordinating with Milton & Summerville Christian Churches, to generously donate hundreds of socks to Hope cottage and Souls Harbour Mission Mart. Happy Holidays to and you and your families.
Saint George's YouthNet, a non-profit organization, provides free programs for children and youth living in or near Uniacke Square, a public housing neighbourhood, in the North End of Halifax. YouthNet has offered friendship and support to the community since it was founded in 1998.
This local program for youth aged 7-17, strives to encourage participants to discover their talents, gain self-confidence and dream of bright futures. The program fulfills this goal through their wide range of programs including after-school, lunch and teen programs throughout the school year and their wilderness camping trips and day camps during the summer.
In the words of Oprah Winfrey, "You become what you believe". Andrew Lacas proudly supports this program and has served on the board for 8 years.
Souls Harbour Rescue Mission
Our team is committed to making a difference in the communities we serve. Whether being involved with the charity directly, or providing donations, we all have had a personal experience with them.
We asked our clients what organizations should we support; Souls Harbour Rescue Mission came up multiple times. For anyone who is not familiar with the Mission, we highly recommend checking them out. They are doing a fantastic job, but unfortunately, this requires much needed work. The Lacas Advisory Group came out to make supper and serve the residents. A special thanks to CIBC Wood Gundy for helping us support this initiative.
