Lisa Applegath, CIM®
I started in this business to help manage money, but I've realized that my purpose is helping people, and really truly this is what the Applegath Group does. We help people create a vision for themselves to follow their dreams. I like to say that we design a life path for our clients and then we walk it...right beside them.
As a child, I was told I could do anything that I put my mind to. So clinging to a passionate belief that I could actually become a change-maker, I began my career as the youngest woman ever to be hired at Richardson Greenshields in this male-dominated industry.
I founded the Applegath Group, which has been recognized for over thirty-five years as a top-tier advisor group for our firm. I was the first woman to be awarded the Investment Dealer's Association Distinction Award for Ontario. I am a CIM and Registered Portfolio Manager and I have my insurance license.
I created The Applegath Group Women's Thought Leadership, and founded the Young Women's Thought Leadership to support young women coming up in the professional world.

Tom Trimble, CIM, CFP, CIMA
As a Portfolio Manager, I assimilate volumes of information, conduct extensive research and take complex sets of data points to find the relationship between them, so that I fully understand the context. I've always had this analytical and curious mind that constantly seeks to understand the essence of everything, to be able to make the best possible choices.
Only when you see the whole picture in context will you be able to get the best results. I help people make better decisions by using my knowledge to provide context.Taking into consideration all the elements of the Life Wheel, I am able to make thoughtful asset allocation decisions, examine new investment opportunities and make sure the portfolios are properly balanced.

Matt Hennebury
At seventeen, during the height of the tech bubble, I persuaded my mother to open a self-directed brokerage account so I could participate in the excitement all my teachers were talking about. I learned my first expensive lesson at a young age. And the best ones usually are the most expensive. However, that experience lit a passion that has never gone out.

Mara Draper
I’m a people person. I love connecting with people, and equally, I love the process of compiling and organizing data. I see systems. I instinctively know how to make order happen. In fact, it’s the only thing I ever wanted to do, pulling everything together, making all the pieces fit, so everything is organized. There’s always such great satisfaction and relief when it all comes together. Which is probably why reading mystery novels appeals to me so much.

When trying to solve a problem, I look at it from all angles —never hesitating to ask questions and curious to understand all the details and the bigger picture. No matter the complexity of a challenge, I’ve learned that anything is possible through a positive mindset. As a graduate in Economics, I often rely on my strategic thinking and analytical skills in these situations. Yet I ultimately believe the best solutions are the ones infused with creativity.
