Now everybody says that, but it's another thing to hire the team that's going to help you execute on that. For example, I stick to the investment side of things and talk to people on a regular basis.

I have been a financial planner for over 15 years.

First and foremost, the client objectives drive the content of the portfolio.

And Linda Wilson is just superb at handling client administration and really the glue that holds the whole team together.

So, I'm usually the main point of contact for clients. I do the quarterly reports for our institutional accounts.
Moe
And Sophie Cooke provides a combination of administrative functions, helping us a lot with identifying good stock opportunities as well.

I do a lot of our research as well to support Moe, Ryan and Glen with the portfolio.

Keeping it simple, keeping it to something we know has been a guiding principle.

We employ direct investment in common stocks and bonds. We want to see dividend growth.
Ryan
We do believe in sticking with our investment disciplines. Markets have become more dynamic, and I think it's even more important than ever to not stray from those investment disciplines.

We are very skeptical of any new product that might surface that seems to be probably too complex, illiquid, to really be a safe investment for our clients.

Whether it's a senior financial planner, estate planning specialists, tax advisors, wealth strategists, becomes integral in providing the service the clients require to meet those very complex needs.

Institutional clients are various groups: it could be hospital foundations, it could be charitable foundations, municipalities, counties. Many of these clients have to achieve a rate of inflation or better. We have to really make sure we help them achieve that.

As far as individual accounts go, and people are just really trying to achieve, in the long run, a comfortable retirement.

I've been with these guys technically almost 30 years. I can look back over the years and consistently see years of growth, and they've been able to keep it nice and steady. I don't really worry about what's actually happening on a day-to-day basis.

That's our goal, is to get their minds off the money, so the money becomes a means to an end, so they can actually do the things I really want to do be with family, friends, travel, etc. Those are the kind of clients we're looking for that share those kinds of long-term goals and take a long-term approach with us too.
