Sarah Murphy studied Chemical Engineering at McMaster University and began her career as an Investment Advisor at CIBC Wood Gundy in 2001. She received the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM™) designation in 2006, and is insurance licensed, and industry registered to transact in options and derivatives.

 

Growing up in a financially-savvy household, Sarah was immersed in financial learning from an early age; her mother was a bond trader who later taught an investing course for women in the 1980s, and her father, Harley, served as an investment advisor for over 45 years.

 

Sarah's expertise is in analyzing global money managers, insurance solutions and advising small foundations and institutions in regard to proper asset allocation. She is passionate about the investment industry, particularly in helping clients navigate its complexities. She provides practical solutions that ensure peace of mind, empowering clients to understand their options and guiding them to make informed choices that align with their goals and desired outcomes.

 

In her downtime, Sarah is an avid reader and enjoys outdoor activities such as mountain biking, skiing, fishing, and competitive swimming. She shares her love of the outdoors with her two daughters, fostering their shared enthusiasm for staying active. Valuing her family, career, and community, Sarah has been actively involved in various local charities for the past 20 years, including the United Way, Rotary, and the Hamilton Community Foundation, where she was appointed Chair of the Board in 2021.

Since joining CIBC Wood Gundy in 2023, Nickie brings with her a passion for people and an established track record of client service excellence.
