Winter Wonderland Concert: Annual Client Appreciation Event Featuring Tenor Ken LaVigne

Experience highlights from our exclusive client appreciation event full of seasonal décor, gourmet cuisine, and a special performance by Ken LaVinge.

Transcript: Kirkby Wealth Advisory Group Holiday Celebration

[00:00] Close-up of a dense evergreen Christmas tree, its branches glowing with warm yellow fairy lights. In the background, elegant crystal chandeliers hang from the draped white fabric of a large tented ceiling.

[00:01] an older man with white hair wearing a blue blazer and white shirt, stands behind a podium under a wooden garden trellis. He speaks warmly to an audience of guests.

Cam Kirkby: "We would like to welcome you all here today and thank you for the efforts you made to get here."

[00:03] Guests smile and laugh together. Cam Kirkby chats and smiles with an attendee in a tan sweater near a decorated pillar.

Cam Kirkby: "Each year, we like to express our gratitude for each and every one of you..."

[00:05] A hand uses silver tongs to select a piece of cheese from a lavish charcuterie display featuring various meats, grapes, and crackers on a rustic wooden board.

Cam Kirkby: "...to have worked with you and become friends with you throughout the year."

[00:06] Two large wooden wine barrels sit nestled among lush tropical greenery and indoor plants. Nearby, a stone fountain sprays water into a pond where a large orange koi fish swims.

[00:08] Cam Kirkby stands with a group of three guests, posing for a photo in front of a purple event banner.

Cam Kirkby: "Tonight, back by popular demand for the third time..."

[00:10] A long table is covered in an array of appetizers, including olives, stuffed pastries, sliced meats, and dips. Guests are seen in the background filling their plates.

Cam Kirkby: "...we have Canadian tenor, Mr. Ken Lavigne."

[00:14] A wide view of the venue reveals a large, bright greenhouse-style room. Dozens of guests are seated at round tables with black linens, applauding as the performance begins.

[00:16] Ken Lavigne, dressed in a dark suit with a red and silver striped tie, stands at the front of the room. He begins to sing into a microphone. Behind him, a double bassist plays a large wooden upright bass.

Ken Lavigne: (Singing) "I’ve heard there was a secret chord that David played, and it pleased the Lord."

[00:27] Ken gestures with his hand as he sings. The camera shows the other musicians: a pianist in a suit and glasses playing a keyboard, and a violinist with a beard playing his instrument.

Ken Lavigne: "But you don't really care for music, do ya? It goes like this: the fourth, the fifth, the minor fall, the major lift."

[00:41] The camera focuses on the food again, showing a tray of smoked salmon on cucumber slices, then moves back to the audience. Three guests are shown watching the performance with focused, appreciative expressions.

[00:48] Ken Lavigne raises his hands, singing with increasing power and emotion.

Ken Lavigne: "The baffled king composing Hallelujah."

[00:53] The entire room of guests stands up and breaks into loud applause and cheers. Ken Lavigne smiles at the crowd from the stage.

[00:57] The scene fades to a clean white screen. Bold text appears in the center.

Event Experience: Ken Lavigne Concert Series with The Kirkby Group

An evening of world-class music, on us. We've hosted three sold-out concerts with acclaimed tenor Ken Lavigne — two at the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium — pairing his celebrated show 3 Knights with a Tenor (the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Paul McCartney, and Elton John) with gourmet appetizers, wine, and great company.

Over 200 clients, family members, and partners have joined us so far.

Client feedback has been overwhelmingly positive:

“Fabulous... enjoyed every minute and the goodies afterward were also very nice.”

“Thoroughly enjoyable! Ken was superb, the band was awesome, and their interaction second to none.”

“Thank you for sharing Ken’s beautiful talent with us!”

“Absolutely wonderful. Bring him back anytime.”

“The show was great, the price was right, the food was best.”

Ken Lavigne

About Ken Lavigne

Ken Lavigne has performed at Carnegie Hall, shared the stage with David Foster, and sung for royalty — a rare caliber of talent for a private client event.

Event Experience: A Morning with Brian Minter

Get gardening advice from the expert who literally wrote the book on it. We brought Order of Canada recipient Brian Minter — the force behind Minter Gardens and one of BC's most respected horticultural voices — to the Hampton Inn in Chilliwack for a hands-on morning session.

Brian walked guests through the art of pairing plants for gardens and planters, with live demonstrations and a slide show, then opened the floor for questions over coffee, tea, and pastries. Practical, personal, and worth the morning.

Event Experience: Aging Well – Local Support & Care Options

Straight answers on senior care, from the people who actually provide it. In 2017, we brought together three local experts at The Reach Gallery in Abbotsford to walk clients and their families through every option available in the Fraser Valley — no guesswork required.

Featured Speakers & Topics:

- Sarah S (Clinical Nurse Specialist, Fraser Health) — accessing public healthcare, home support, and government-funded programs

- Danny B (Managing Partner, Nurse Next Door) — private in-home care, from daily assistance to nursing and respite support

- Marie L (Chartwell Retirement Residences) — choosing between independent living, assisted living, and memory care

Guests left with a full picture: public health services, private in-home care, retirement living options, and community programs like Meals on Wheels — plus direct access to ask each speaker questions.

Why it matters: Planning ahead for care isn't just a financial decision, it's a quality-of-life one. This is the kind of support we believe in offering beyond the portfolio. Want to learn more or attend a future session? Reach out to your Kirkby Group advisor.

Event Experience: Twilight on the Green – An Evening with Elvis

Golf course views, an open bar, and the King himself. Twice now, we've turned the outdoor pavilion at Chilliwack Golf Club — Cascade Mountain views included — into a summer evening to remember, headlined by Elvis tribute artist Steve Elliot.

Guests danced to Steve's dead-on voice and stage presence, worked through gourmet appetizers and desserts, and kept the wine flowing all night. The verdict from attendees: one of the standout client events, hospitality included.

Event Experience: Community Growth Tours – Abbotsford & Chilliwack

An insider's tour of the region you call home. In June 2019, we ran two exclusive bus tours giving clients a front-row seat to how Abbotsford and Chilliwack are transforming.

Abbotsford on the Rise took guests through the city's most exciting changes, capped off with lunch at Fieldhouse Brewing.

Morning with the Mayor started with coffee at the Coast Hotel before Mayor Ken Popove and Brian Coombes (President, CEPCO) led a coach tour through Chilliwack's growth story. Over lunch, the Algra Brothers detailed their redevelopment plans for what's now District 1881, followed by live Q&A.

Why it matters: Direct access to city leaders and developers most people never get — so our clients stay informed and invested in where they live.

Event Experience: 10 Steps to Successful Estate Planning Seminar

Estate planning, demystified in one evening. In 2023, we partnered with CIBC Trust and local lawyers to host this complimentary seminar at the CIBC Vedder Branch in Chilliwack — open to clients and their families, no cost to attend.

A panel of experts walked through real-world examples and best practices, followed by an extended Q&A so guests could ask about their own situations directly. Appetizers and refreshments included.

Why it matters: Estate planning protects what you've built and spares your family unnecessary stress. It's part of how we think about wealth management — beyond the portfolio, into every stage of life. Ready to start your own plan? Talk to your Kirkby Group advisor.

Event Experience: Dinner with Tax Expert Jamie Golombeck at The Hangar

Top-tier tax insight, served with dinner. In 2024, we hosted Jamie Golombek — one of Canada's leading tax experts — for an evening at The Hangar at Abbotsford International Airport, blending sharp financial insight with fine dining in one of the region's most memorable venues.

Guests raved about the food, Jamie's approachable and engaging presentation style, and a setting unlike any other client event we've run.

Why it matters: We bring industry-leading expertise straight to our clients, in a room built for real conversation — because informed decisions start with great information.
