What is the Coldest Night of the Year?
The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly 2 or 5 km fundraising walk in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.
Each year in February, tens of thousands of Canadians step outside the warmth and comfort of home to shine a light of welcome and compassion in their communities. Since 2011, the Coldest Night of the Year has raised over $75,000,000 across Canada in 190 Canadian communities – 100% of net proceeds stay local to support our CNOY charity partners.
How do we participate?
For the last 10 plus years, the Kirkby Group has participated in the annual Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser in support of the Cyrus Centre. The Coldest Night of the Year raises money for the hungry, homeless and hurting in more than 100 communities across Canada. Since 2011, it has raised over $75 million dollars through the efforts of each of its well respected local partners.
Cyrus Centre provides much needed support for vulnerable, homeless youth and their families. They are the starting point for youth to exit the streets, by providing food services, shelter, clothing, advocacy, referrals, showers, laundry, life skills development, employment coaching and freedom from exploitation.
On February 22/2025 this fundraiser in our community raised over $43,500 for Cyrus Centre – amazing!!
