Leap of Faith 

What is the Leap of Faith? 

It’s an experience like no other—a tandem skydive with a purpose.

Leap of Faith is Cyrus Centre’s annual jump-a-thon, where participants raise funds to support youth experiencing homelessness in the Fraser Valley.

Proceeds go toward providing safe shelter, meals, and life-changing support for vulnerable youth.

How do we participate? 

We fundraise and JUMP OUT OF A PLANE!!!!! Yes, us! Our team members and family members personally jump out of a perfectly operating plane for these awesome kids who need our help, love and support.  We jump to raise awareness and money.

What is CIBC Miracle Day?

CIBC Miracle Day is a proud tradition that has helped to improve the lives children around the world since it began in 1984. Every year, on the first Wednesday of December our CIBC Wood Gundy teams donate to help kids in need.

Since it's inception, Miracle Day has raised more than $278 million for children's charities globally.

How does the Kirkby Group participate?

Our team is passionate about helping children and their families within our communities. Together, with our clients, we've made a big impact here at home.

How does the money raised support our community?

Starfish Backpack Program (Chilliwack, Mission and Abbotsford, BC)

Mission: End child hunger.

Program: Volunteers pack backpacks with two healthy breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks to take home of the weekend. Packs are delivered to local schools weekly.

Cyrus Center (Chilliwack and Abbotsford, BC)

Mission: Showing love with practical and relational care to youth and families in need.

Program: Provide 24 hour shelter, support and services to youth aged 12-24 who are without a safe and stable place to live.

Abbotsford School District Meal Program (Abbotsford, BC)

Mission: No child goes hungry at school.

Program: Provides lunches and snacks to students who come to school hungry due to financial hardships experienced by their families.

Chilliwack Bowls of Hope (Chilliwack, BC)

Mission: Eradicate child hunger.

Program: Dedicated to ensuring that children and families have access to quality nutrition in their community.

Abbotsford Community Foundation (Fraser Valley, BC)

Mission: Build a stronger, more caring community by investing in people, projects and programs. 

Program: Connect donors with charities to support various community initiatives, including student scholarships.

CIBC Run For The Cure

What is CIBC Run For the Cure?

CIBC Run for the Cure is an annual fundraising event organized in partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society. It is Canada’s largest single-day, volunteer-led event in support of the breast cancer cause. Participants across the country walk or run to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research, support services, and advocacy.

Total Funds Raised Since its inception in 1992, the CIBC Run for the Cure has raised over $500 million to support breast cancer research and programs in Canada.

How do we participate?

The Kirkby Wealth Advisory Group is proud to live and work in communities that we deeply care about. Giving back is at the heart of what we do, and one of the ways we show our commitment is by participating in the CIBC Run For The Cure each year.

Since 2009, our branch has raised nearly $200,000 in support of cancer research, education, and awareness. For the third consecutive year, we are honored to be recognized as the top fundraiser for the Abbotsford run—a testament to the generosity and support of our incredible friends, colleagues, and clients.

This achievement wouldn’t be possible without those who stand with us and behind us. Your kindness and contributions help make a real difference in the lives of those affected by this disease, and we are truly grateful. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.

Coldest Night of the Year

What is the Coldest Night of the Year?

The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly 2 or 5 km fundraising walk in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.

Each year in February, tens of thousands of Canadians step outside the warmth and comfort of home to shine a light of welcome and compassion in their communities. Since 2011, the Coldest Night of the Year has raised over $75,000,000 across Canada in 190 Canadian communities – 100% of net proceeds stay local to support our CNOY charity partners.

How do we participate?

For the last 10 plus years, the Kirkby Group has participated in the annual Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser in support of the Cyrus Centre. The Coldest Night of the Year raises money for the hungry, homeless and hurting in more than 100 communities across Canada. Since 2011, it has raised over $75 million dollars through the efforts of each of its well respected local partners.

Cyrus Centre provides much needed support for vulnerable, homeless youth and their families. They are the starting point for youth to exit the streets, by providing food services, shelter, clothing, advocacy, referrals, showers, laundry, life skills development, employment coaching and freedom from exploitation.

 On February 22/2025 this fundraiser in our community raised over $43,500 for Cyrus Centre – amazing!!
